Careers Breakfast with Lydia Hopgood (OP 2017) on Thursday 5 March at 7.45am in the Scriptorium 'From Bennies to the BBC'
Lydia
began a BBC Production Apprenticeship last September, following a highly
competitive selection process, and will be outlining how all her experiences
developed the skills required to secure this highly coveted role!
There will be bacon butties and warm Pain au Chocolat
available.

Avenue.
There will be a meet time of 07:45 at St Benedict’s Senior School Gates on Eaton Rise and an approximate return time to school of 16:15 to the Junior School gates.
Please can we request that you send your daughter in with full St Benedict’s tracksuit and a warm coat, as well as a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of water. They will not require any school books on the day in question.

Parents are very welcome to spectate and there will be a refreshments stall on site selling hot drinks and snacks. Parking is available on site, though please encourage lift-sharing where possible. If your child has not been selected they will be in school as usual.

Mr O'Hara will meet the girls at 2pm at the junior school gates, for a early departure.
The match will take place during the games session, therefore all children will attend games as usual and will be dismissed at the end of the school day.

In extreme cold weather in line with England Netball guidelines, players can wear base layers as well as gloves. Gloves should be plain, soft leather or micro fibre (e.g. Neoprene) which are manufactured without seams and have no abrasive materials including but not limited to zippers, Velcro, metallic or plastic fasteners or rubberized embellishments used to improve grip.
No jewellery is allowed to worn.

Please meet at Fox Fields between 7.30a.m and 8.00a.m. You must wear your school PE kit. Please bring a spare pair of socks and trainers if it has been raining previously as your shoes are likely to get wet. You must also ensure you have water and a healthy snack for when we finish. We will send a message to your parents before 7a.m if it is cancelled due to bad weather.

The Epiphany and the end of the Jubilee Year of Hope
Today’s Mass celebrates both the Epiphany—God’s revelation to the world—and the Jubilee Year of Hope, a special time for spiritual renewal and embracing hope. Both occasions invite us to live out the Benedictine values of love, forgiveness, and hospitality in our daily lives.
There will be an early break at 10.30.
Please line up at 10.50 for a prompt start to Mass.
I am looking for a Master of Ceremonies for our SCQ final on Thursday morning. Your job is to welcome our visitors, introduce each participant and then close by thanking the judge. A script will be provided. If you are interested see Mrs Smith at morning break today. (A treat will be on offer)

Red Wednesday & Early Break (Wednesday 19 November 2025)
What is Red Wednesday?
Imagine a day when people all over the world wear the same color to send a message of love and support to others who need it. That day is Red Wednesday.
Why Red? Red is a bright, strong color. On this day, the color red is used to remind everyone of the blood shed by people who were brave enough to stand up for what they believed in, even when it was dangerous.
What is the problem? In many places around the world, some people can't go to church, pray, or even talk about their faith with their friends and family without getting into trouble. Sometimes, they lose their homes, their things, or even their family members.
What's the message? The main message of Red Wednesday is to "Break the Silence" and let those who are suffering know that they are not forgotten.

The Mini Vinnies will be hosting a cake sale on Thursday 13 November to raise money for the Red Cross who are supporting Jamaica with their recovery after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
We would appreciate any contributions you could bring to school on the Thursday morning and deliver them to the Junior Hall for the cake sale. The cake sale will run during morning break.
